St George Single Malt

November 21st, 2010

Artisan spirits have started coming to the forefront as the micro brew craze did a few years back.  Customers are seeking out unique products that step away from the old guard.  One such offering is the St George Single Malt from St George Spirits.  St George Spirits is based in Alameda California and produces a number of spirits including Hanger 1 vodka.  St George Single Malt is distilled from roast and lightly smoked barley then aged in a combination of Bourbon, French Oak, and Port barrels.   The final spirit has a fresh taste with notes of honey and cocoa.  Micro brew drinkers will notice the almost hoppy quality.  St George Single Malt is a welcomed addition to any back bar and offers customers a different yet familiar alternative to the standard fair.  Enjoy neat or on the rocks.

Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit 101

August 11th, 2010

Kentucky Spirit is a 101° single-barrel bourbon; every drop of its unadulterated taste and smoothness is drawn only from a single barrel.  Each barrel is hand-selected at the peak of maturity before the bourbon is poured out and bottled. A stickler for quality, Jimmy Russell personally selects each of the barrels used in Kentucky Spirit. His challenge is to find single barrels that capture the essence of Wild Turkey, while at the same time, having a similarity that gives each taste of Kentucky Spirit consistency from bottle to bottle.

Flowers Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

“Medium-light garnet color. Cherry compote aromas accentuated by Fennel spice and violet. Flavors evocative of roasted meats, olives and citrus add to the complexity. Acidity is balanced with supple tannins to produce a smooth, uplifting finish. Enjoy now or cellar up to 3 years.”
